The extra tough reinforced Nylon 66 Pocket Trowel is a lightweight and compact backpacking trowel. The handle retracts into the blade to save space in your backpack and it's the ideal tool for upholding Leave No Trace ethics in the backcountry. When fully extended, it's the same length as the minimum depth of the ‘cathole’ you should dig.

This certification comes from the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, which protects the environment by teaching and inspiring people to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. Properly used, Sea to Summit Leave No Trace products will not only improve your experience in the backcountry, they will help you tread lighter in the wilderness.

Yes. You can wash the Nylon Pocket Trowel in very hot water (the melting point of the nylon is well above the boiling point of water)
Only to a limited extent. In really rocky areas, or in soil with extensive root systems, the hardened blade of Alloy Pocket Trowel makes it the better choice.

"Was excited about this shovel, but must say that unless the soil is soft and nothing other than grass and weeds grows on it, it's pretty useless. We didn't use it once on our 10-day hiking trip as it couldn't cut through roots or deal with solid / rocky ground. Wouldn't buy again."
"Excellent product and customer service, haven't used it yet on a hike but it is sturdy, lightweight and compact."
"Would rather have the aluminum but it wasn't in stock and it beats an E-tool. Still great for number two!"
"Although there are lighter options out there - especially while backpacking, this is a pretty slick tool. I like that the handle holds a small bit of toilet paper."
"My hands kind of hurt so it’s kind of hard to take the handle off the spoon"
"Very Handy Good Quality Lightweight Portable"
"sturdy little shovel when nature calls!"
"Lightweight, works just like you'd think it would. Excellent customer service."
